Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India hosted the 4th edition of World Food India (WFI),25-28 September 2025. The event was inaugurated by Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, excerpts from his address
India possesses the triple strength of diversity, demand and scale and is looked at with great optimism by global investors. The country is positioned as the world’s third largest economy with several startups working in the food processing Industry.
New technology platform- e commerce, drones, App’s and above all AI are transforming and strengthening processing, supply chains and retailing methods.
Food processing sector is being actively promoted with permitting 100% FDI investment, Mega food parks, and initiating world’s largest storage infrastructure scheme.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the efforts made since a decade are showing results, the processing capacity has increased, and exports have doubled. He stressed that the farmers, livestock rearers, fishermen and small processing units in food supply and retail value chains play a critical role in development of economy.
