Description
Dr. J. K. Mehta’s family came to India from the erstwhile North West Frontier Province of Pre-Independence India. His father, a station master with the Indian Railways, was often posted at different locations through North India. The experiences of his family as they travelled across North West to finally settle in Delhi were passed down through generations. To these were added the experiences of his father through his numerous postings. Dr. Mehta, the writer, added to these stories inspired by the people he met at NDA, where he taught for 29 years. We, his family, have heard many of these at dinner, at family gatherings, and on lazy summer evenings, always trying to guess who they were actually about. Dr. J. K. Mehta penned down these stories to share them with a wider audience. Sadly, he did not live to see this dream come true. We, his family, wish to pass these stories on to all of you. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we have.
